Job Description

Position : Business Analyst
Location : Jackson, MS Hybrid - Remote after the first 6 weeks of onsite training

Duration : Long term contract

Job Summary

The Client is seeking two experienced Business Analysts to support the Success data conversion project. The selected candidates will serve as the primary point of contact for users experiencing application and help desk issues while ensuring smooth business operations throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires a strong blend of business analysis, customer support, incident management, and system troubleshooting experience within government benefits systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for end users experiencing system or application issues.
• Troubleshoot software problems and resolve user inquiries involving manual data manipulation.
• Receive, document, prioritize, assign, and monitor support requests through phone, email, chat, and JIRA ticketing system.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes of recurring issues.
• Escalate complex technical or business issues to management when necessary.
• Work closely with MDHS program staff and IT teams to identify business and technology needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and enhancement requests.
• Assist with data conversion support activities for the Success project.
• Provide exceptional customer service while communicating technical information to non-technical users.
• Participate in testing, issue validation, and continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher.
• Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst or Help Desk experience.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting automated eligibility systems for:
  • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
  • TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
  • E&T (Employment & Training)
• Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience documenting incidents and system issues.
• Experience interacting with business users and technical teams.
• Strong customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• JIRA ticket management experience.
• Certified Professional Business Analyst (CBAP or equivalent).
• Windows administration/support experience.
• SQL Server knowledge.
• ADABAS experience.
• Linux experience.
• Mainframe experience.
• Data Quality or data validation experience.
